Kiyomizu-dera
Today we were quite productive with our sightseeing, we began at Tainai-meguri which involved venturing into a pitch black underground temple and feeling your way around the darkness with your hands until you find the giant stone discus which you soin in a clockwise direction while making your wish (apparently this is your journey into the womb of Daizuigu Bosatsu, a female Bodhisattva who has the power to grant any human wish).
Then we explored Kiyomizu Dera, one of Japans largest and most impressive temples before wandering down the streets of southern Higashiyama where we had a look at what is considered to be one of Kyoto's most picturesque streets!
