Reaching for the Sky
Down at the quay where i work, there are a couple of cormorants who grace us with their presence from time to time. I had not seen them for a few days but just as I was heading for lunch today, I spotted them. So I rushed back to the office and grabbed my camera.
I then spent at least 15 minutes trying to capture them! They dive for their food and can spend a relatively long period of time underwater. When they emerge, its often a fair bit away from the point of entry! So you stand, you watch, you wait, then you spot them over the other side of the quay. You point, you click and what do you get??? Suffice to say I have several shots of the calm waters with a circle of ripples emanating from the point where the little devil went under, but none of the bird itself! Its now on my hit blip list!
So plan B. The last of my climbing roses, reaching vainly towards the little patch of blue which had emerged amongst the shroud of greay which has been engulfing us for the past forever many days! So pretty and pink! They are now gracing a vase in my living room :)
