Grainger Market
When it opened Newcastle's Grainger Market was considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world and is still one of the largest market halls in England. It also boasts the world's smallest Marks and Spencer store which opened in 1895 and is the last remaining example of The Penny Bazaar shops that were the forerunner to the stores that we know today.
The original Weigh House was used by retailers and customers to check the weight of their goods.
