St. Kevin's Church, Glendalough

I took advantage of my trip to Kilcoole to work in my brother's office, and spent the last of the light hours taking a walk around Glendalough. This is a truly magical place steeped in ancient monastic times.

It was very still, and in fact, eerie, around the lakes in the fading light. The high hills and tall trees cast deep shadows and the lake was black except for the grey reflection of the sky. An animal's screech descending to a growl echoed around the lake, adding to the mood.

It was a gift.
