Fall along Cherry Creek
Eastern Colorado's only large native tree, the cottonwood (Populus deltoides) often turns a brilliant shade of gold in the autumn. Here it is joined by the rusty yellow of non-native green ashes(Fraxinus pennsylvanica) an escapee from people's yards, in a semi-urban setting. While we don't have the reds and oranges of back east it has its own charm.
