They Listened
A few moths ago I bought a new camera. The user interface was really interesting. It was designed by the company's mobile phone group. Needless to say some people were fine with it (like me) while others thought it was atrocious. However, universally everyone said "good start BUT this could easily be so much better". Well today we got so much better. I just downloaded the new firmware and set up my custom settings.
The ability of end users to update firmware coupled with manufacturers willing to admit their products might not have been perfect when launched (and actually produce a firmware update) is fantastic for users and manufacturers alike.
The users are happy that the product can be enhanced and doesn't instantly become a "brick" with the newest latest greatest product and at the same time breeds loyalty,
