Into the light
Continuing yesterday's blurred theme...
I went to see the Impressionists' Gardens exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy today. I'd been given a ticket six weeks ago but had just never got round to going sooner. Now I wish I had - the show finishes on Sunday, and half the city was there today to catch it before the end.
It's difficult to know what to make of the paintings, as you couldn't see most of them for the crowds. I don't remember ever being jostled in an art gallery before. Those poor Impressionists - it's not their fault they became so popular and ended up with their best and most avant-garde works splattered all over tea-towels and place-mats...
