Waste?
I've been reading about lean management for some time now. There's this better than good book 'Rebirth of American Industry' which I really like.
It tends to emphasize the importance of not having inventory on manufacturing plants. The same is a very hot topic in software industry - eliminating the non-completed work (non-completed is any code not in production). All waste should be eliminated.
I've had these for some years now. Not once have I used them.
They are waste by definition.
Luckily we don't always need to think 'work-wise' at home.
