Ahhhhhhhh
~~Backblip~~
Day 2 with the car, and we hit the south of the Island this time. It was relatively disappointing after the North. Lots of lovely little beaches... but they're all the same really. When you've seen one...
Went down through Zante town, and on to Argasi and Porto Kaminia. On the way back from there we encountered some roadworks, and a bus heading towards us on our side of the road. Ever courteous, Mathew decided to reverse, almost over this steep verge.
Then on to Kalamaki, where we saw this fort-type-thing. When we climbed up to the top of it, also got this portrait of Mathew. Don't think it quite qualifies as an urban portrait - perhaps a bit too rural! Any other day, it would probably have been my blip.
Went on then to Laganas - this is where the young people were! Beach was beautiful and filled with people, of all ages to be honest. It was quite weird though, because they weren't all in together - it was like there were invisible barriers dividing sections - Saga, 18-30 and family. Took some pictures of the sea that just happened to have attractive young men playing in the sea - won't link as Candid photography doesn't seem very popular on blip. But there ARE photos on flickr lol. The beach here was genuinely very nice, but I was disappointed to encounter a Gillette Fusion razor blade :(
After that we were off to Cape Keri, to see the sunset. It's the most spectacular sunset I've ever witnessed in real life, and the pictures don't really do it justice. We were there much much too early, so took way too many samey pics (on flickr if you want to see 100+ pics of the various stages of a setting sun lol). This location also allowed me to play about with one of the things that fascinates and amuses me most about photography. The sheer subjectivity of it. The photographer controls exactly what they want you to see... the viewer has no idea what's OUTSIDE the frame. While we were looking out to see at this beautiful sunset, this was behind us!
