Croatia Day 2: Up The River

Day 2 of our trip we woke up to a proper Croatian breakfast of Bread and various meats and cheese from our hosts, which was nice. We then ventured to Omis, south of where we were staying (bajnice).

We did the usual ambling and ended up taking a boat through the valleys up the river. It was such a nice ride. The weather had been rubbish all morning but as we got to the top of the trip, where we stopped for soup and a beer the weather broke and bright sunshine appeared.

This photo was taken before that but the river still looked stunning. I love the brightly coloured canoes in this picture too.

In the boat with us were a few German couples (Croatia must be very popular with Germans) and they were really friendly despite the fact we didn't understand each other at all. I could stretch my German just about to ask for a photo of me and Corky though.

After the boat ride we went up a small fort. This gave us an amazing view over omis.

We then decided to head back to Bajnice and the hostel. On the bus back it started to rain again so we stayed in the room and relaxed for a bit.

For the afternoon/evening we went into Split and walked around the waterfront, through markets and cobbled streets. We also watch an Aussie street performer who was just terrible before sitting down for a drink then heading back to our hostel.
