One and Other

My One and Other book arrived today.

This is now the only, publicly available, permanent record of all the people who were on the plinth last year - the website's been archived, but most of the content is missing - certainly all of the videos are gone. Which, I think, is a pity. It was a great project that sparked a lot of debate about whether it counted as art or not - a discussion that is an odd omission from the book. But it was cool in ways that the organisers hadn't predicted - especially the way in which Twitter reacted to it by discussing the participants and providing a running commentary as the event progressed. It engaged people, it sparked controversy, and got people talking about both it and public art in general.
