Seeing Photography

Back down to Edinburgh today then straight into my Monday evening lecture series, Seeing Photography: an Introduction to Photograpic Theory

Tonight it was Photography Finds it's Voice using Alfred Stieglitz's The Steerage as the pivotal image.

Fascinating, entertaining and of course educational all rolled into one. I'm off to do a bit of research into Gertrude Käsebier whose portraits look remarkably contemporary and immediate.

Worth having a look.
