Larkrise

Nice evening this evening, out at the King's Theatre to see Lark Rise to Candleford. We had quite a big group, and lots of them didn't really seem to get it. I think the original books are an allegory for the passing of a way of life due to industrialisation, urbanisation and finally the Great War. I think most of my party were expecting the chocolate box, Sunday night BBC version.

The singing and the set were good, it's worth a look, but better yet read the books!
