The Courtyard, Travebank
Had to nip into Broughty Ferry with #1 Son at lunchtime for a joint scalping today.
Poked around the ruined house & restaurant at Travebank. It has a massive walled garden, with stream running down the back, and is surrounded at the back by trees. One of them fell a while back, knocking down part of the wall/corner building.
I'd love land like this to build a house on. The old walled garden would make for a great kitchen garden. No idea why its so derelict and the house in ruins. Its been that way for a very very long time now. I think someone attempted to modernise it back in 1990, but they have ruined the brickwork with some cement render all round.
I don't think much of it can be saved now (lots of bits have collapsed). No doubt that's what the present owners will want so they can knock it down and build about 20 rabbit hutched sized houses on the land!
Anyway, decided to play around with photoshop to try and change the picture to resemble an old 70s/80s instant camera shot. I'm pleased by the result.
