Going...
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on my last two blips. I fear I've peaked now and the only way is down!
So I apologise for the late and lazy blip but this evening has been spent in the company of a highly over-excited seven-year-old who is going on his first ever ever ever trip overnight (2 nights actually) away from us!
Its a school trip where they will be abseiling and fencing and kayaking and doing archery and going on a night-time nature ramble and all sorts of other exciting stuff.
He wants to go...he doesn't want to go...he wants to go...he doesn't want to go...and so on and so forth. He's sharing a room with his two 'bestest' friends and he really wants to go...only he doesn't really want to...get the picture?
Today I have been whizzing round well know supermarkets buying essentials like a small soap (which won't even get wet I bet), slippers (because Archie ate Henry's!) and a hat and gloves because the temperature has suddenly dropped and his head and hands have grown loads since last year!
Tonight we've been packing. The school helpfully provided us with a list (good job really as Grant family packing is notoriously bad and generally ends up with us spending the first day of any trip away hitting the shops for toothpaste, shower gel, trainers, coats...yes really I once forgot coats...in England at Easter!) The list is ridiculously long for two nights away...we don't take as much stuff for him for a fortnight's holiday...which may be where we've been going wrong.
Anyway we packed a small suitcase then realised we had a load of stuff left over so repacked a larger suitcase. How much of this stuff we will ever return to us remains to be seen. As Noah wanted to be in the thick of things and was 'helping', how much of what H actually needs is left in the case also remains to be seen but I'm not going through it all again.
He left Didi draped over the case because he's going to take him (his friends have told him that they're taking their soft toys so he's happy that he won't be teased :-)
The house is going to be reeeeeeeeally quiet.
