The Strawberry Tree

Apparently this is a Strawberry Tree, Arbutus unedo. I'd never even noticed it before. Fortunately there is a sign next to it which explains:

'Its white flowers appear at the same time as the red fruit. It grows wild from the Mediterranean across to south-west Ireland - but this is the biggest of its kind in the UK.'
