schoolyard of our dreams

this week i have been participating in a training about creating schoolyard habitats (habitat for animals that is!). wild areas that can better the environment of the community but also provide great learning/teaching opportunities for the school where they are located.

we're doing a sort of case study at a school and creating our own dream schoolyard habitat design - with a small group. these are two of the stellar members of my group as we stand atop a small hill on the grounds looking out over the 30 acres we have to work with. imagining forests and wetlands and meadow clearings and the list goes on!
