Down a well trodden path
Took this on the way to work this morning. Stopped en route, and decided to take some blips just in case, as i knew i didn't want to do any more light trails this week. Its far too cold ;)
Liked the way the sun was shining, the autumn leaves on the path and the reflection of the bridge in the watter.
Mrs P was a star today. She's been encouraging the kids to read more books (they are already very good at reading, far better than me) by joining the library system in Dundee, as its easier for us to get to than Perth. So far they have got almost every book they have been after, even new ones just out by their favourite authors. Saved me a fortune!
So this morning when she said they were going to drop off some books and pick up more, i asked if she could look at any cookbooks for Jam making. Came back with two, one of which i looked at buying last week. Saves spending money for only a couple of recipes.
Already many pages into the "Super Jam Cookbook" by Fraser Doherty, who's from Edinburgh. Twist on his stuff (which sells under Super Jam brand in the supermarkets) is that it's apparently more healthy, made with grape juice rather than cane sugar. Will give it a bash and see how it tastes as that's the definitive test for me.
Pesky Princess spotted page 122, Raspberry Ripple ice cream (no need for ice cream making machine) and is determined we do that at the weekend.
Blip is such an inspiring place and changing our lives for the better. First we were spurred into foraging after reading other peoples blips about their exploits, then jam making after others tasty looking blips and writeups, and now we're branching out into our own adventures of trying alternatives to using sugar, and making ice cream ;)
