Eltham palace

The Manor House was acquired by Edward II?s Queen, Isabella in c 1311, and she was responsible for strengthening and buttressing the c 1200 walls; Edward III developed the palace further and it became a royal favorite, throughout the 14 and 15 centuries. Little of this remains, but the Great Hall, rebuilt by Edward IV during the late 1500th century, after two earlier halls had been destroyed. Eltham is still a Crown property, but this jewel, hidden away by the suburbs of southeast London, is leased and managed by English Heritage. It has been used extensively in period dramas for film and television.

I am posting when able, (ugh!), so backblipping is inevitable; I rather like this one!
