London Docklands
Another busy week with a trip to Essex Monday to Wednesday. One of the sites insisted that I turn up at 0800 for a site induction. This consisted of a 20 minute dvd followed by a tepe recording of the site fire alarms. Now, why couldn't they do this at a more sociable hour. I was up at 5am so I could drive up to Essex in time for this joy.
So, as a result, I was finished the days work by 1pm, so I decided to take a trip into London, intending to capture a blip of the Olympic site. Got as far as the Excel site and decided that I didn't want to spend too much time here if I didn't want to be caught in rush hour traffic. Eventually found a safe spot to park the van and take this panorama of Canary Wharf and the O2 arena, That will do for Monday, I thought to myself. I planned to blip the QE2 Bridge at Dartford after work on Tuesday, but as soon as I was finished, the heavens opened. I'll be back up this neck of the woods again I thought to myself.
Wednesday morning dawned bright and clear (I know as I was at work by 5am). I've been told that I cant take cameras onto refinery sites for the same reasons as mobile phones.... But surely?! I was desperate for another blip. Maybe next time (from a safe distance!)
