She was a good hen

So, today we are a little bit sad at Buckley Hughes towers. Our good hen, Ali (as featured on 10th October), died in the night, and tonight we cremated her. She had been poorly since saturday, and was probably about 7 years old, which is very good for an ex-battery hen.
Her final couple of months were spend mostly teaching our four new ex-battery hens how to go to bed, how to get up in the morning, how to scrat around in the bark chippings for grubs and generally how to be good hens. She had a good life, and we were happy to have had her in ours.
