Delayed Gratification

The ability to delay gratification is a good trait, at least in my opinion. It leads to useful actions such as doing one's homework on a rainy Friday night so that the rest of the weekend is free. Another example is eating your greens early on in the meal to avoid being left with a doleful pile of cabbage staring back from the plate and standing between you and pudding.

However delayed gratification can lead to some slightly odd and messy methods of eating as demonstrated in this photograph.

I long since gave up complaining - recognising that I can deal with this if the homework gets done early.
