I wish I knew...
...what it is. I'm extremely poor at identifying fungi. Bad show for a keen forager like me. I suspect I've never learnt because even if I did know what was edible and what wasn't, I still wouldn't trust my judgement.
Anyway, these caught my eye, minding their own business on a giant felled beech at the entrance to Withybush Woods and the ponds on the periphery of Haverfordwest. The woods were once part of Withybush House, a manor long ago owned by the Owen and later, the Phelps families. The grounds are a nice, gentle walkway suitable for wheelchair users and make for a quickie dog walk when a trip into town is neccessary.
