Dinner with Good Friends

It's been too long since we saw S and S but we made up for it tonight when we all went to The Royal China. After a delicious meal (I gave up on the chopsticks and resorted to the back-up knife and fork), we visited some of the local pubs which was fun. We arrived home at half past three in the morning... Long after my bedtime but it was a great night.

"And I find chopsticks frankly distressing. Am I alone in thinking it odd that a people ingenious enough to invent paper, gunpowder, kites and any number of other useful objects, and who have a noble history extending back 3,000 years haven't yet worked out that a pair of knitting needles is no way to capture food?"
