The Power Plant

A few weeks ago (I'm posting this pic a little late) I went down to Louisville Kentucky for an industry trade show. I didnt have much free time and the trees hadnt started changing yet.

Louisville is on the edge of Kentucky and Indiana. During a trade show the hotels raise their rates to ridiculous levels so I decided to stay on the Indiana side of the state lines. About 20 minutes from the exhibition center is the Horseshoe Casino. The Casino has reasonable rates for the amenities. And its a very nice place to stay indeed!

The Casino is in the middle of nowhere (I seem to stay in the middle of nowhere frequently) and on the Illinois river. I took this picture from the Indiana side...across the river, the Power Plant is in Kentucky. It was late in the day and this was the only angle of the plant that I could get. The foliage was too thick on my side of the river.

The bartender at the casino told me there was a great scenic place to take pictures down river. It was called "The Falls of the Illinois". I drove over there on the morning of my departure and honestly...it wasnt very scenic. The river was so low that you could walk halfway across out on the bedrock. It was great for a hike but not so much for pictures.

This was the best picture of my trip. I kinda like it. :)
