Looks Good To Me

Make a Difference Day

Not only was it Make a Difference Day, a national day of community service, but the tree planting work party was a joint effort by NSEA, the Whatcom Conservation District, and WWU LEAD volunteers, so it was no surprise that there was a huge turn-out. I wasn't able to capture all the people, or the whole site, in one photo.

At one point we ran out of tools, and had to send for more. The balmy weather helped to maintain a high level of enthusiasm until all 2450 trees had been planted next to the Nooksack River, in Hovander Park.

Here's a photo showing some of the planted trees and the huge pile of empty pots. C thought some of you might like to see this photo of one of the NSEA trucks.
