these are silly bands. they are elastic bands in funny shapes.

in some shops you can pay up to £2 for a packet like this.

what I would like to know is where do these things start and how do they catch on...? how does someone look at 2p worth of elastic and work out that they can flog it for such an exorbitant price.. Makes the kids (temporarily) happy. Nuts
