Heads on a Bench

Unfortunately, we won't be home for Halloween this year to see all the trick-or-treating kids come through our neighborhood. (I suppose it's not completely unfortunate, though, since we'll be in San Diego for a friend's wedding instead.) Still, we decided that being gone on the actual day wasn't a good reason not to carve pumpkins, so we spent about an hour this afternoon digging into the ones we scored last weekend.

I can't decide whether mine (on the left) looks more like a chorister belting his heart out or an unfortunate guillotine victim quite unhappy with his fate -- but I suppose ambiguity is an essential part of art. Anna's, on the other hand, looks like something from Pac-Man.
