Labour Day NZ
Traditionally one should be digging in the garden on this public holiday. Getting it all ready for the summer. Planting those veggies for the Christmas BBQ! Anyway, we had planted ours slightly ahead of the tradition and took the opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Dressed in togs only we hopped in the car to make our first appearance at the local pool. Very nice, heated to 26 C, 'for comfortable swimming', it says on the sign : )
Surrounded by enough grass for comfortable snoozing after that splash. It brought back memories of Holland , when mum used to take me and some friends/ cousins to the pools for the day. We used to spread out the towels, have lots of turns in the pool alternated by snoozing in the sun, and always visit the little snack corner (on site) to have 'patatje oorlog' (fries with mayonaise, satay sauce and raw onions, translate to; "war fries". Some hate it, I have always loved it and have the occassional craving for them, mmmmm
I lovely shot of a happy pool visitor.
