Roslin Castle

Visited Rosslyn Chapel and the castle today and not because I like Dan Brown's books. I have tried to visit the Chapel a couple of times over the years (pre Dan Brown) but it has been shut or there have been christenings/weddings on.

Really fascinating and the carving is amazing particularly when you imagine the lack of sophisticated tools or equipment. The castle itself is on a fantastic vantage point looking out over Roslin Glen. You end up wondering why that particular spot was chosen above others, strategic, panoramic...?

Next time coming back with the walking boots - beautiful colours and a great walk through the Glen
