chilly october

The coldest October night was followed by a crisp cold day. This was good for two reasons:

1. I have a new coat and I felt smug wearing it (it's cosy); and
2. It's a good excuse for a fire.

In other news, I met a blipper's offspring today (Louiseblips' Ruth). She is lovely and very clever and well behaved enough to do work experience in the school holidays. If I ever have children I imagine they will do community service in the school holidays, though I hope I'm mistaken.
