Apple Pressing

For the last two years we have had "Apple Day" where friends have come round eaten sausages and pressed apples. This year we have decided not to do it but M was running short of his killer cider. So with generous donations from friends and a bit of scumping from another friends garden the four of us decided to get squashing. My job was the chop up the apples to go in the crusher. I would do the first crush with B putting them through a second time with J watching. M was then pressing them. We got 50 litres of juice. 80% has gone to cider but I managed to rescue the most gorgeous apple juice to go in the freezer to keep us going over winter.

We will also give some to the friends who kindly donated. I am sure Apple Day will resume next year.
