Underneath the Arches

Neglected by successive city administrations, the area underneath the arches in Union Terrace Gardens, Aberdeen was looking pretty drab ... that changed over the weekend as a group of dedicated volunteers from the Friends of Union Terrace Gardens descended on the park they love and (with permission from the Council) set about re-painting the 24 arches (which stretch almost the full length of Union Terrace) and brightening things up (newspaper report here).
