The event, Karvachauth.
I have grown up seeing my mother and other married ladies in the neighborhood fasting on this day. Why and how it is done is here.
Now, that I also fall in this category, I naturally become a part of this tradition. Today, for the first time, I went in the evening to perform this ritual where I along with many other ladies sat in a circle, while we passed the puja thalis to the person sitting next. I was a bit lost then, among so experienced ladies, who also had their thalis and diyas done quite well. As I had always seen this ritual being done by elders, I somehow could not relate it with myself today.
Now, the wait is for Moon to arrive, the offerings that we make to the Moon before we consume all the goodies in our stomachs. One really good reason to go home is to have the kind of food that's made by mom today.
