If I had a hammer....

12 months + 5 days

First news... Katie slept through last night! She had been doing it sporadically, until teething kicked in, then was only waking once a night, until it got really bad, then she was waking a couple of times a night... but last night, 7pm til 6am, straight through, not a peep! She even had a further hour snuggling sleep from 7am til 8. So fingers crossed, now number 2 has cut we're settling back down again.

We've spent a lovely day with a good friend of mine, Vicki. Vicki took us out shopping. We returned a few bits of clothes that needed exchanging, then she took us to Mothercare World. Katie was to chose her birthday present from her and her husband. She had the run of the shop, and this is what she chose - the Vtech My First Toolkit. She LOVES it. We took her (with much protesting) to Toys R Us to check their options before commiting to the purchase, but she made it entirely clear that nothing else was satisfactory. As soon as we returned to Mothercare, she toddled up to the toolkit again. So that's what she has!

We went for a late lunch, a first, for Mummy and Katie actually, our first meal at Nando's. It was rather yummy! I'm a veggie, but still really enjoyed it. Katie slept on my knee for half the time, which she hasn't done for a while!

In the shop, Katie loved pressing the buttons on the tool kit. She was even more impressed when she discovered at home that she can hammer (and wrench, saw and screw-drive!)
