Barge Lady With Killing Machine
When I drew back the curtains yesterday, Fluffy was outside gazing back at me. Had I not gone out, I would have been quite happy for that to have been my blip.
Having driven over to Bradford-on-Avon in the afternoon, and been out walking for over two hours until after dark, I thought I should choose one of the images from the towpath walk. It's been a long and soul-searching matter to select the right image mainly because the image I finally chose is so technically flawed on account of the long hand-held exposure made after the sun had set. I love the obvious bond between the woman and the cat, who, she told me, was being held prisoner to prevent her from going after a mouse she had just freed into the woods. It's a rare occasion of my asking a stranger if I could take their picture, and it has a small back-story.
My plan to walk to the Avoncliff aquaduct was elegantly executed apart from the slight flaw of going in completely the wrong direction and ending up near Hilperton Marsh. Along the way I'd seen cygnets on the River Avon, holidaymakers at Bradford Lock, barge dogs and barge cats before getting back to the canal basin at Bradford Lock. Do have a look at these and the two above if you're so minded.
Now it's almost dark and I have to think about today's blip. Smokey!
