Hope. Perseverance. Faith.

We have all struggled and strained to climb those metaphorical mountains only to realise, at the summit, that it was a total wasted effort.

Or so it seems.

With his three brothers ill at home, my second child was forced to play alone. He struggled and strained to get on the see-saw, while I watched in interest wondering what he would do when he was finally seated.

Unlike many 'grown ups' there was only elation that he had managed to get up to the seat. No bitter dissapointment that he had no one to share the ride with. But then, with that broad smile and gleeful laugh, there was no way I was not going to climb on the other side and join in the fun.

Our children have a lot to teach us about how to live.
