That's What Friends Are For...
This is my Mum and her Best Friend Martha, together on Mum's 71st birthday.
They didn't go to school together, only knew each other to see, until 49 years ago they both
Gave birth within a few days of each other to little girls, both called Jacqueline.
There started a friendship which has lasted all those years.
I remember when I was little visiting my 'Aunty' Martha and Uncle Jack - Aunt Martha was the sweetest, most lovely lady I knew, and Uncle Jack tickled me until I wet myself most visits! He was an outrageous tease and tortured me by tickle!
When my dad died, having Aunt Martha around was a blessing. She and I walked up to the local grocer shop and bought up all their Cold meat so that we could make sandwiches for all the visitors. She smiled, she soothed and she kept us all calm.
Uncle Jack was taken from us too, far too early, and now Mum and Aunt Martha meet up at least once a week - at their keep fit classes, or at each others houses for coffee - or like this on the spur of the moment, just to

A few weeks ago there was a posting about having a friend who, even if you hadn't seen them for ages, if you hadn't spoken to them for ever, if you needed to you could call on them and they be there...... That's this pair!
