Elephant Man

A great day; mixing with grown-ups (good fun but only to be undertaken occasionally) surviving group training and then train-waiting-time spent at the art gallery and museum.

This guy is about 3-4 ft tall, knitted & stuffed and apparently has many brothers. I agree with the artist's intended interpretation, that he gives an eerie sense of the familiar while being a little disturbing. I think having no face is what I don't feel comfortable with but the stance and slippers are very grandadly and the textures are very tactile like a much loved cuddly toy. Weird but interesting to see amongst the gilt frames and Egyptian pottery.
