Nile Cruise Day Two

Edfu Temple.

Once we'd gotten rid of our guide, we left the (far too) many other tourist groups trailing in the dust as we enjoyed a quite mesmerising walk around this amazing temple. Its original roofing was still in place, giving it a very different feel to the others on the trip.

I found it interesting to see old Egyptian men pretending to be part of the furniture, only to start harassing tourists for backsheesh once the inevitable photograph was taken. It's a dirty tactic, if you ask me, and one that cropped up countless times on every temple visit during the trip.

Needless to say, I didn't fall for it once.
