The Carlton Hotel Cannes

The Carlton is a luxury hotel built in 1909, on La Croisette in Cannes on the French Riviera.

It is a National Historic Building and during the Cannes Film Festival, I am told it is the place to stay. The photos of stars old and new support this.

How does it qualify for Past Empires? Well, it was the winter home of the British and other European aristocrats and royalty before the First World War, so many past empires perhaps qualify?
