It's official...
There are many signs of impending winter - some lovely, some not so.
Here the clocks "fall" back overnight tomorrow night - which means an extra hour sleep. You know we managed to keep British Summer Time pottering along for more than a hundred years - and it all went pretty smoothly. But now I understand that the Ninth European Parliament and Council Directive on Summer Time Arrangements states that summer (or daylight saving) time will be kept between the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. I am not an anti-European by any means - but sometimes....
One sure sign of the impending gloom is the first morning when I leave the house to go to work and the Lantern - operated by PIRD - judges that it is dark enough to switch on and light my way to the car. Well, it's not quite dark enough to be needed - but it appeared this morning anyway!
