Autumn Leaves (not very original)

A blustery night and Friday in Edinburgh, many piles of leaves around the garden, giving clues to the aerodynamics of the house.

Whilst clearing around the back I noticed the beech hedge - now about 10 years old - how it does not drop leaves, and also how the different bushes are at different stages of "browning"

It also reminded me of a lecture I had been listening to about the intelligence of plants ...
