Dublin today
Today was tipping it down, torrential rain running down the street. We decided to let the train take the strain and went off to Dublin to see the fair city and meet up with my pal's daughter who is living there.
Despite the rain, we went to see the Book of Kells, Durrow and Armagh. I wanted to steal the Book of Kells and take it back to Scotland where it belongs! but they wouldnt let me, however I have sussed out their security system so ...next time and it will be back in Iona where it ought to be.
After that it was off to O'Neils for a phantasmagorical lunch with some Guinness then onto along the Temple Bar and onto the Guinness factory. This was about 8 floors on Guinees overload ending up at the top with a free pint and a view of Dublin to die for. When we came out the factory it was still raining so we took a Hanson Cab back to my pal's house where we had tae and Hebrdean scones she had brought back with her.
Finally the train took the strain (in more ways than one after all that food and drink) and came back to Kilkenny.
Tomorrow its back to Northern Ireland for two more days
A brilliant holiday if I say so myself
Have a good blip time all
