Loss of Support

It only struck me today, that the temporary supports of the Eglinton Viaduct's westbound carriageway have been removed. I remember seeing plenty of guys clustered round the base of them on Tuesday morning: they must have been preparing the move.

The full brace still sits supporting the eastbound carriageway. Presumably the road below won't be reverting to it's original state for a while yet - supposedly scheduled for May 2011, but with the entire M74 construction well ahead of schedule, I'd imagine that date will be coming forward too.
