Derby day

Today was Derby Day in Melbourne. Derby day being one of the big horse racing days before the big one, The Melbourne Cup, on Tuesday. Here in Brisbane there was a fairly significant meeting at the Doomben racecourse.

Now my mate Brad is a keen follower of the ponies. Me, I can take it or leave it. Brad, my best mate does a lot of stuff I want to do over the course of the year though so I must say it was time I did something he wants to do.

I don't normally gamble but today I made an exception. I probably won my money back, that's all.

Where I lost bigtime was on beer and food.

It was a great day all things considered.
