The Village Pump

Blipped this while waiting for the bus into Hawes. Arrived about 12.30 did not realise that the next bus back was not until 18.05. great though Hawes is we would have been hard pushed to find something to do for this length of time on what was a dull and bitterly cold day. We did find a bus which went to Bainbridge and decided to get that and walk to Askrigg. Got off the bus opposite the Rose and Crown Inn so popped in for a drink and a bowl of delicious vegetable soup. We then continued our journey on foot.Only about 11/2 miles. All ended well. But we did take more notice of timetables from then on.
