South Africa Day 4: The Cradle of Humankind

Saturday in South Africa a whole day to eplore - YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

We hired a car this morning and i have spent the whole day driving about (quite an experience as people try to sell you all sorts of junk at every traffic light)

We visited teh Cradle of Humankind which is like a museum of how life began and evolved from Africa - it was very interesting. Here i am stood next to two giant post its in the museum whhich i think have some very important messages on :) Remember - for just two pound a month you can save a child!

We then drove to Soweto which is essentially the slums - everyone at work was telling me this was a bad idea. When we got tehre i was shocked to see the poverty and the state these people live in, quite an eye opener. I would have loved to explore it more on an oficial tour but i was driving around in a hire car in an area renowned for violence and crime, for this reason i took no pics and we only stayed 10 mins.

I then drove us to soccer city staduim which is just well .... massive. Then we found Nelson Mandelas house and looked at his wall - you can't see much else as it is very secure. The street he lives on is quite pretty though.

I am really excited about tomorrow - Elephants and Lions up close ... touching close!!! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am now thinking about food and a beer ... goodnight from SA
