Fixing Spuddy
Been an "inside" day today, and not just because of the rain. Woke up to beautiful sunshine and before we'd got out of bed the heavens had opened and it was pouring down.
Ben had already got up and wandered off in search of food - and find food he did: the cake that I hadn't had time to finish last night before Ben woke up and went into complete meltdown for some reason. I went to bed and took him in with me and peace was restored. But, the cake didn't get put away, and so that was Ben's breakfast this morning. Yummy, said Ben, as he presented me with the empty plate and a teaspoon.
Steve has been very poorly today. He has got something wrong with his stomach, which the doctor thinks might be too much acid production, so he is on some tablets to counter that. But the tablets are causing a massive amount of nausea and although he's been on them since Monday the nausea just seems to be getting worse and worse. It sounds very much like when I changed my diabetes medication from insulin to tablets and was sick for a week and a half - then all of a sudden the sickness stopped and I was ok again. I'm really hoping that that's the case with Stephen, it's horrible seeing him so sick.
So we have spent the day in the front room, mainly. I got the fire going early and we didn't bother with the central heating. Steve has been collapsed on the sofa, Ben went upstairs at one point and brought a teddy down for him to cuddle. Ben has been really really sweet, giving cuddles, bringing teddies, getting a load of plastic beakers and lining them up on daddy's leg as he was asleep, that kind of thing. He loves his daddy :) and it makes us both smile.
Steve's stomach has improved as the day has gone on, so much so that he has even been able to play with Ben some :)
I guess there's not going to be many trick-or-treaters out tonight what with Strictly and X-Factor on, but I've been out and got a pile of chocolates and a bucket of haribo ready just in case.....
