WAXWING IRRUPTION
A not very good quality photograph, taken through the telescope, of two of the 34 Waxwings which arrived in the garden yesterday. They have been trilling away up in the trees off and on all day; but once they have eaten through the berries they will be off in search of the next harvest. Apparently there are hundreds and thousands arriving at the moment from NE Europe and Scandinavia, where presumably food has run short for them.
G's birthday today so much baking and food preparation, and a feast to come this evening.
Hope you've all had a good weekend, and with luck next week will be calmer and I'll get back to commenting. In the meantime, thank you all of you who have not deserted me during my silence!
